This very productive group produced
what must be a record number of
screenprints during our photographic
stencil workshop at the weekend.
It was lovely to see so many diverse
prints produced in just a few hours.
The Print Block held another of
its popular 'Taster' workshops
at the weekend which provided
an introduction to some of the
simpler printmaking techniques.
The students all chose to make
prints using the paper stencil
method and produced some
lovely results.
ELCAF (East London Comics & Arts Festival)
will be holding their first event this
Sunday 17th June at 54, Holywell Hill
Shoreditch London. Print Block members
Kevin & Hurk who produce these beautiful
zines at the studio will be showing there.
For this weeks Hang Me Up we have
chosen Print Block member Oy-Wah
Chung. Oy-Wah specialises in
textile surface design and this
print was inspired by her recent
travels in Thailand.
Artist Robert Clarke was commissioned by
private client 'Howdens' to produce a
series of large prints of London and the
River Thames to hang in their new offices
in Eastcheap.
The Print Block was kindly invited
by Windy Corner Stores in Whitstable
to exhibit a selection of screen
prints as part of an ongoing project.
Karen Radford is the second print
block member selected to exhibit
there. All works are for sale.
Ruby Green booked the studio for the
day and with a little technical support
produced this lovely screenprint which
was originally produced as a linocut.
Suki has been busy editioning
this week for London based
Illustrator Alice Pattullo.
