A day trip to Rye to the archives of Collier
and Campbell, to meet the very lovely Sarah
Campbell. Our task, to make a selection of
original textile designs for the upcoming
Contemporary Open Print Fair at the Sidney
Cooper Gallery in Canterbury this July.
Collier and Campbell are responsible for some
of our most famous and iconic textile designs
and the archives were brimming with the most
wonderful hand painted pictures and fabric
samples. It was an overwhelming task as we
only had room for a small selection but it
made for the most fascinating and memorable
day out. A big thank you to Sarah for her
generosity, for making us feel so welcome
and for giving us both such a special treat.
