Bainbridge Open 2014

Print Block member Sadie Hennessy and Suki's 
editioning clients Robert Clarke and Julia 
Mckenzie had their work selected for this years 
Bainbridge open submission show of contemporary 
printmaking. Organised by Bainbridge studios 
in West Norwood the exhibition was held at The 
Embassy Tea Gallery, London from 7th to 11th 
May. Shown here is Julia's intricate screen 
print 'Fontenaye' which won her the Intaglio 
Printmaker Prize!

Photo Stencil Workshop

Last Saturday we ran another one day photo stencil 

workshop at the studio. This time we encouraged

the students to make up their stencils in the class

which resulted in some really varied and interesting 

work. These are a selection of really lovely prints 

achieved in just 7 hours. 

One to One

Ella McDonald and Heather Nowak booked a 

days tech support in the studio with Karen 

at the weekend. Ella printed a beautiful 

concertina book in preparation for her 

degree show at Camberwell School of Art, 

and Heather, inspired by the current Matisse 

exhibition of paper cut-outs experimented 

with paper shapes and images printed in 

vibrant colour. 

Whitstable Museum Workshops

On Saturday The Print Block ran two children's print 

workshops to tie in with the current exhibition 

'East Kent Printmakers' now showing at The Whitstable 

Museum & Gallery and the Herne Bay Musuem. The children 

experimented with paper cut outs, lino printing and  

screen printing techniques and produced some very 

lovely work. Well done everyone!
