Rochester based printmaker Heather Haythornthwaite
and David Bailey who recently completed one of our 
5 week courses, booked the studio for the day to
produce some new work. These are some lovely examples 
of what they achieved during the day.

One To One

Having recently completed one of our 5 weeks courses
Jess Ciantar booked the studio for  a couple of days 
to produce these lovely stuffed toys based on characters 
from The Nutcracker Suite. 

5 Week Course

These are a selection of screen prints

produced by a talented class of students 

over a 5 week period. They learnt three 

different processes and some of these 

prints show a combination of two of them, 

paper stencils and drawing fluid. They

also experimented with monoprinting and 

the most popular and widely used process 

photographic stencils.

The Print Block Studio Sale

Saturday morning greeted us with sunshine and blue skies 
for our spring studio sale at the weekend. A big thank 
you to our members and everyone who helped and supported 
us making it another great success. 

Relief Printmaking & Bookbinding at The Print Block

This year the Print Block is delighted to welcome Andy 
Smith as one of our visiting course tutors. Andy Smith 
is an artist who is interested in paper and the 
possibilities that this presents. He uses traditional 
and digital printmaking media, non-silver photographic 
techniques and the artists book-form as a means to make 
his work. He has taught at a number of art schools 
including UCA, The Slade, The Royal College of Art, 
Northumbria University and the Art Institute of Chicago. 
He has also exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad.
